Any faulty locks, rollers and catches can be replaced during the retrofit process and we always replace the stays to ensure the opening function of the window sashes is not compromised by the additional weight of the IGU.

Most of the time we swap a sloped bead that is designed to accommodate single glass panes for a 90 degree angle bead which creates a cavity that suits IGU.

Often the sash frames are replaced with new sash frames.

During the retrofit process, we can make small alterations to some configurations such as removing an unneccesary transom or mullion in a frame. It can alsobe possible in some instances to incorporate additional opening sashes into frames to improve ventilation
